Do you have a bunch of inspiration for your outfits, accessories, hair & makeup for Lost Lands, saved in all different places &/or just in an album on your phone? Scrolling back & forth between it all...
We only have about 2 more weeks until we are back in the valley together, so let's make sure all of our hard work & concepts for our outfits are all in one place...
MOOD & VISION BOARDS!
But WHERE and HOW do you create one... for free?!
PINTEREST is my favorite tool to use for this!
Especially for hair & makeup inspiration!
I mean honestly, we save literally everything to our various boards anyway, and since it's already there... may as well utilize it!
You could also use Canva, or an app like that, but then you have to re-save all of your other inspiration. & upload it to Canva or another app, before cutting it out.
Instead, you can upload your specific items TO PINTEREST, on a private board, from your phone app or on your laptop. Like things you've ordered off Amazon or any online shop, such as: boots, tights, belts, bralettes, entire outfits, braids, makeup, face gems, etc!
Once uploaded, you can organize into even more specific folders within the board.
AND everything will be available for you to collage with.
HOW TO MAKE AN OUTFIT COLLAGE USING PINTEREST:
You can only use the Pinterest phone app to access their collage feature, by the way.
It is free! But for some reason, the collage feature will only work on my phone app.
The app has a photo editor within it, so you can play around with lots of different settings like lighting, contrast, cropping, etc.
Also, you can EDIT how the background is painted out for transparency in the background eraser tool with each individual photo/pin, to make your collages have the classic cut-out effect.

Q: Why even bother doing this? It seems like a lot of work?
A: This is a great way to keep everything organized & in one place. Even if only used prior to the festival when in the planning stage. It helps not have to flip through so many different photos.
Q: What kinds of things do you collage?
A: Usually 2 different kinds: 1st = Just makeup, hair & aesthetic for each outfit look; 2nd = The Complete Look with outfit and accessories + hair & makeup, shoes, etc.!
Q: Do I have examples of a collage?
A: Absolutely! At the end of this post, I have examples of collages I created for my outfit looks for Lost Lands 2024.
Q: What do I do with the collage once it's created?
A: Option 1 = Save it to your phone, in 1 folder. That way its zoomable if you need. Option 2 = Print out, if that's your thing!

Here is another example of a collage I created using Pinterest's awesome collage feature, this time it was for my hair & braid inspiration for Lost Lands 2024:
Personally, I have a full undercut with the shaved sides and on the underside, so a lot of the traditional braid looks do not work the same for me.
Also, I only use like 1/2 or 1/3 the amount of braiding hair that normal people would use!
It can be way too heavy for my scalp & has completely fallen out.
I've finally PERFECTED the braiding style that works extremely well with my hair last year during Lost Lands 2024. Thanks to a fellow raver @imxmoonchild! I based my braids off of her incredibly helpful braid tutorial for Bass Canyon 2024!
I cannot wait to save myself even more time this year by pre-braiding part of the braids at home.
Last year, I pre-mixed and separated the hair at home, packaged it all sectioned away & then braided my hair + the hair extensions AT CAMP on Thursday late morning/early afternoon.
Hogging our single only rechargeable fan & trying not to get distracted by everyone else. HA! It was SO HOT last year, the hottest year yet honestly... but taking the time to do the braids was absolutely worth it!
